Your privacy is important to us. PetNudge stores all your pet data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information without your consent.
Information We Collect
PetNudge is designed with privacy in mind. Here's what you should know:
- Pet Data: All information about your pets (names, health records, vaccinations, medications, appointments) is stored locally on your device.
- Photos: Pet photos you add are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
- Usage Data: We do not collect analytics or usage data about how you use the app.
Data Storage
PetNudge uses Apple's SwiftData framework to store all your pet information securely on your device. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.
- We cannot access, read, or recover your data.
- If you delete the app, all data stored within it will be permanently deleted.
In-App Purchases
Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled securely by Apple.
AI Pet Assistant
PetNudge includes an AI-powered pet assistant feature. Here's how it handles your data:
- Conversations: Your chat messages are sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate responses. We do not store conversation history on our servers.
- Pet Information: Basic pet information (name, species, breed, age) may be included in AI requests to provide personalized responses.
- No Medical Records: Your pet's detailed health records, vaccinations, and medications are NOT sent to the AI service.
- Disclaimer: The AI provides general information only and is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary advice. We are not veterinarians.
Third-Party Services
PetNudge uses the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini AI: For the AI Pet Assistant feature. Conversations are processed by Google's servers. See Google's AI Terms.
- Apple Maps: For finding veterinary clinics near you (only when you use the clinic search feature).
- StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases.
- Push Notifications: For medication and appointment reminders (only if you enable notifications).
Notifications
If you enable notifications, PetNudge will send local notifications for:
- Medication reminders
- Vaccination due dates
- Upcoming vet appointments
These notifications are generated locally on your device and do not require sending your data to any server.
Security
PetNudge supports biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) to protect your pet's data. When enabled:
- The app requires authentication each time it is opened.
- Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS and is never accessible to our app.
Children's Privacy
PetNudge does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to track pet health information, not personal user data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
